We have some VERY exciting news to share featuring one of our own Ellsworth High School VPA Academy graduates!
Connor Wentworth, a 2017 Ellsworth High School graduate, is officially making his Off-Broadway debut as a playwright! It's an incredible milestone - but one that comes as no surprise to anyone who worked with Connor during his days as a Mad Jester. While with the VPA Academy, Connor began his experience with playwriting - he wrote an original play that the Theatre of the Mad Jesters produced, and it served as their one-act entry into the Maine Drama Festival that year!
Today, Connor is preparing for the debut of his Immersive Silent Disco Ballet The Circuit. Performances begin on May 15 and run through June 29 in Brooklyn, NY!
Connor and the production were recently featured in Playbill Magazine, a massive milestone for any artist, but especially inspiring for a student from a small, rural school in Maine! It goes to show that with talent and dedication, the distance from our stage to the Big Apple isn't as far as it seems!
