THE WORLD LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT

The World Language Department at EHS consists of 3 enthusiastic teachers with more than 50 years of combined experience motivating and immersing their students in French and Spanish language and culture. Mrs. Corson, Mrs. Kutny and Mrs. Svec have all lived overseas in Spain, Belgium and France, and love to bring their unique perspectives to their students through conversation in the target language, food, plays, music, literature, film and holiday celebrations. The World Language classrooms at EHS are friendly, fun and intellectual all at the same time. Come join us!!

World Languages Standards

1. INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION: Students engage in conversations that express personal thoughts and opinions about familiar topics. (MLR.WL.A.1)

2. INTERPRETIVE COMMUNICATION: Students understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics. (ACTFL. 1.2)

3. PRESENTATIONAL COMMUNICATION: Students present information, concepts and ideas, orally and in writing, to an audience of listeners or readers on a variety of topics. (ACTFL. 1.3)

4. COMPARISON: Students compare the nature of language and the culture(s) of the target language with one's own. (ACTFL. 4.1, 4.2)
