I am the Student Services Coordinator at Hancock County Technical Center, and I work to help the students at HCTC achieve their academic, career, and post-secondary goals. I act as the testing coordinator for the Accuplacer exam and I help to proctor many of the third-party assessments at HCTC. I have been a coach for students competing in the SkillsUSA Competition and I am a Bridge Year Program liaison.
I came to HCTC in 2013 from the Orono School System, where I worked for four years in the High School Guidance Department. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Education in Counselor Education from the University of Maine in Orono. I have experience with academic planning, counseling students, post-secondary planning and the college application process, as well as scholarship and financial aid application assistance.
I am a proud member of the American School Counselors Association, the Maine Counselors Association, the Maine School Counselors Association, and the Association for Career and Technical Education. I attended the National ACTE VisionTech Conference in Nashville, Tennessee in November 2014, and I also attended the SkillsUSA National Leadership Skills Conference and Competition in Kansas City, Missouri, in June 2014.
